About me Naresh Giangrande I have a degree in chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania . I Lived in the USA , until I was 24 working in New York City briefly as a chemist, but primarily as a gaffer in the film business. I then moved to London working as a carpenter for a brief time, then established a landscape business with my then partner. I was partner and Managing Director of the landscape company in London for 17 years. I was married for 23 years and have 2 daughters. Most of my subsequent work and study took an unusual turn, training at the London College of Homeopathy for 4 years, and I also have a qualification in Ayurvedic massage. Healing has played an important part in my life, and still does. I worked with Nikhila, teaching Tantra. I have trained with the leading Tantra practitioners, both in this country and at the Osho Commune in India . I have been meditating and following a spiritual practice since the age of 19.
I have also trained and worked in many movement and therapeutic-based practices including 5 Rhythms, Contact Improvisation, Shamanic work, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Jungian therapy, Co-counselling, and Community Building . My living arrangement has mostly taken the shape of intentional community. I was part of the Braziers Park community for many years, and living with people and all the ups and downs that entails, as well as living as sustainably as possible has been part of my path. I also write poetry. Since 2005 I have been working with Rob Hopkins co founding the inspirational Transition Towns project. I am currently focalising the Energy Working group if Transition Town Totnes, and developing Transition Network; the growing network of towns across the UK who are relocalizing.
